Since it was formed in 1915 the WI as a charitable organisation and individual members have taken an active part in society. With a strong, sometimes outspoken, campaigning focus to provide women with a voice, with education and useful skills there’s lot of opportunities for every women to find something they’re interested in. There are almost 50 WIs in Middlesex, and each one holds monthly meetings on a wide variety of topics and will be involved in other activities which could include craft groups, campaigning, walking, book clubs – in fact almost anything the members want!
Each individual WI is a local charity, the Middlesex Federation of WIs or MFWI is the umbrella organisation that co-ordinates some activities and provides an additional link to the national organisation. This site aims to inform and inspire you to get involved in a way that suits you.
