Since it was formed in 1915, the Women’s Institute has operated as a charitable organisation and individual members have taken an active part in society. With a strong, sometimes outspoken, campaigning focus to provide women with a voice, with education and useful skills there’s lot of opportunities for every women to find something they’re interested in.
Middlesex Federation was formed in April 1921 and is home to 42 individual Women’s Institutes, each of which holds monthly meetings on a wide variety of topics and will be involved in other activities which could include craft groups, campaigning, walking, book clubs – in fact almost anything the members want!
Each individual WI is a local charity, whilst the Middlesex Federation of WIs (MFWI) is the umbrella organisation that co-ordinates some activities and provides an additional link to the National Federation (NFWI). This site aims to inform and inspire you to get involved in a way that suits you.
Take a look at our monthly newsletters for an insight into MFWI life.
